ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 gets my vote. Cheap, cheerful and supports everything you'll want for a gaming pc.

If you're on a budget you could go for this

    http://www.dabs.ie/products/gigabyte-78lmt-s2p-am3--amd-760g-ddr3-atx-7Y42.html?q=GA-78LMT-S2P&src=16

I use this one with the 6300 and it's actually dropped further in price since I got it 5 months ago. Be wary though that if you use this your overclocking potential is really limited. But I've never needed to they work great together!

Better to get something in the 9xx series as they support AM3+ CPUs out of the box. That one may or may not need a BIOS update before it can support the CPU you're buying: See here

That'll get you a decent board, but I've had no issues with mine. But like I said you have to be sure you won't want to overclock in future though!

I wouldn't go mad buying higher end overclocking boards. You could buy a fairly basic matx socket 1150 board and an i5 4440 for similar money. Where are you buying all of the parts and what's your budget.

If your buying from Dabs you should pick your parts and buy all at once you'll get free delivery and save a good chunk of your budget

Go for what hare05 said I think (I'm not expert on motherboards or pc hardware, the price is what I think is good plus features over other boards), the 970 PRO3 R2.0. It's a nice price with free delivery from amazon at £51.14 and not that old of a board compared to the dabs one (for just a little extra).

That board on dabs also only supports two types of DDR3 ram according to this website and a maximum of 8GB (which is all you'd need for gaming but for near enough the same price you get a board with 4 slots instead of 2 and support for up to 32GB ram).

Actually that website really sums it up the loss you get in going for that board over spending a little extra for a 970, there's quite a difference. Fair enough you may not use the extra stuff I don't know but for nearabouts the same price you get more...that board by rights should be less as it doesn't stand up to a 970 at all.

The worst hit I can see is that the Gigabyte board only has SATA 3GB/s and the PRO3 has SATA 6GB/s so if you're buying an SSD (which you probably are) you won't get the full benefit of having an SSD.
