just wondering if anyone would know where/if I could get a photo of a race winner with jockey from 1971 . The race was the National Chase Trail in punchestown. Horse General Symons

Any ideas where to look would be great

    thanks

if you know the exact date, you could try the newspaper archives in the National Library.

Try e mailing Irish Times or Irish Racing they could point you in the right direction

healyracing.ie are the official racecourse photographers , archives back to 1975 only though

I'm sure if you mail them they could tell you how or where to locate the picture as I'm sure it's a common enough request to them

Healy photographers have an archive going back to around that date, so you could try contacting them to see if they have it: www.healyracing.ie

Otherwise, as others have said, the National Library would be a good place to start. They have hundreds of years of newspaper archives on microfilm, so you should find what you're looking for. If you know the exact date, it will make your search easier, but if you just have the month/year, it's fine. The Irish Field is just one paper among their collection, so definitely worth checking out.

Would they have a photo of the last winner I backed?

Didnt think it was as recent as that? I had a Paddy Power Pigeon account back then.
