So I've been in work since 7 this morning and in my tiredness I clipped the front of the car off my gate on the way home , the bumper just pressed against the gate. I have two nasty scraped but they are repairable once I find the colour code and get the paint...

    BUT

Check engine light has now come on, I didn't hit it hard at all and the bumper is still in place, does it come on automatically on impact , can I re-set it? I started the engine and everything seems to be ok...

Anyone know where I can get an OBD 2 reader to re-set it or if anyone is in North Dublin and has one would they be kind enough to let me borrow it if they were around tomorrow...It's a 2001 Alfa 166..

have a look under the bonnet in case you knocked any electrical connections loose.
If you were in cork i would read the codes for you

A cheap vag com cable coupled with multi ecuscan (free to download) should work for that Alfa.
Have you found obd plug on car?
