Aldi Set Top Box

As the set top box can be connected to a satellite dish, I hope its ok to post this here.

I'm interested in buying this set top box and I'm hoping some posters here can offer their knowledgeable opinions as to whether I should.

Your links dont work as such but I think both items you refer to can be viewed here.

Im not sure what your question is exactly but I have the STB and it works great for me. Cant comment on the aerial.

You can attach it to a satellite dish if you wish but you won't receive any channels as it requires a terrestrial aerial for reception. Saorview tuner only.

Am surprised the links didn't work, they seemed grand when I checked them earlier. Anyway, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

It does not connect to a Satellite dish, only to an aerial for reception of Saorview terrestrial channels.

The set top box appears to be the Vestel box sold elsewhere for much more so should be OK.
The aerial is mis described, there is no such thing as a digital aerial. They have also counted each element 4 times, it is a 12 element aerial. You'd be better off with a more conventional aerial from a reputable manufacturer such as Blake or Antiference. Less windage as well.

Thanks for your assistance folks. Got the STB yesterday, looking forward to trying it out. All I need now is an aerial.
