Carbon Frame flex? Good or bad?

Carbon frames with a slight flex or carbon frames stiff as a board?
The one I want they say flex's a little but with my limited amateur power and the fact i won't be doing 80kph on down hills does it really matter?

Surely for amateurs who doesn't race there it makes no difference except to give a more comfortable ride?
    Am I wrong?

    Which frame is it?

Too stiff might be uncomfortable for you, but some folk like something to moan about so maybe get a stiff frame if that describes you. ;-)

HA ha, I'm choosing between the Canyon Ultimate and the aeroad.
They say the ultimate is lighter but stiff as but the aeroad is a bit flexy.
I reckon at my level just pick one I like the look of basically cos I won't know the difference. both Ultegra group set . I reckon the stiff one might be uncomfortable on irish roads tho.

Budget for the most expensive one then buy the cheaper one. Use the difference to buy a good set of wheels. That is where you see a difference. Other then top level amateurs/pro's /Raam you wont notice the difference in the frames.

Irish roads... they are fine tbh, sure some are shít but plenty are just fine. I wouldn't let them determine your purchase.

I would have expected the aeroroad to be stiffer than the ultimate, but there you go.

My preference would be the ultimate, but I won't be riding it.

Flex in the right places is good and in the wrong places bad surely?

Canyon have a flexy seat post you can spec at purchase that should soak up some buzz.

Interested to know your reason for preferring the ultimate? if you don't mind sharing.

I mostly don't find aero frames aesthetically appealing.

Also, the Aeroroad is 1.09kg, whilst the Ultimate is 790g for whatever frame sizes they weighed.

I would be a weightweenie rather than an aeroweenie.

I don't think at my level I'll notice the weight and I like the look of the aeroad, a mate once said buy what you love the look of you'll ride it more ! I was on the turbo tonight and noticed even my alu cube flexes a little when I tried so I don't think the flexing matters

    I totally agree with that.

You will always notice a bit of flex on the turbo since the bike is held quite firm in place.
