Judo gi is too big - what now?!

I bought my first Judo gi this week online. The one I got was recommended for 5'10" to 6'0" but I've found that it's too big (I'm 5'10"). I think the jacket is the right length but the sleeves are too long and feel a bit baggy. The pants are also too long and are quite baggy.

So the way I see it I have two options:

    1. Wash it a few times and see how much it shrinks. Cons: can't return it once I've washed it.

    2. Return and get the next size down. Cons: this one might shrink too much and I'll ultimately have something that's too small!

Any suggestions? Site suggests 5% shrinkage but although the reviews were mostly favourable, those that weren't said that they shrank a LOT.

    Which type did you get?.

If its very big a hot wash will shrink it, but its risky.

Most do shrink over the first few washes, and also if this is your first judogi ever then its normal for them to feel very baggy, esp if you've worn a BJJ gi (their cut is a lot tighter).
