NCT - letter of confirmation

Have NCT in the morning and due to new phone don't have confirmation text I got some some weeks ago. Printer has run out of ink so can't print email confirmation!!

I'll be on the system anyway so surely it should be enough to quote the Booking ID, if I even need to as I reckon the reg no should be enough? I'll naturally have my driving licence and Vehicle Reg Cert.

It's just that the email asks that "This letter of confirmation" be brought to the test centre.

Any chance I could be turned away for not having that piece of paper?

I've never been asked for it so I guess you'll be ok.

    Thanks for the replies.

I was thinking the same but good to get a second (and third!) opinion

You could always take a screen-shot of the e-mail confirmation and show them that on your phone, in the unlikely event they will ask to see confirmation :)

You don't need it, just show up on time.

You'll need your licence and the log book. Gone quite strict on those. You can pass without them but from what I've read here you won't get the cert until you show them

Apart from that, you don't need the reference, just yourself and your cars :)

They accepted passport from me when I told them my licence was out of date (last year).

    And nothing else..
Must be passport or Driving licence.

And the driver's license or passport must be of the person presenting the car for testing, not specifically the registered owner.

Yeah, funny enough they wouldn't accept my 'Nigerian prince' passport for some strange reason. :D

Some people have been known to bring their wife's/husband's license as they are the car's registered owner which they will not accept.

Thanks for all the further replies.

Yep, no mention of the letter of confirmation today. Vehicle reg cert and my driving licence only documentation required and I had already given my card details when booking online.

2 cars in for NCT today and both passed :)
