I used to have a nice bit of cladding on me frame but I have lost a nice bit of it now. I am starting to feel the cold dreadfully. Anyone else have experience of this. This winter I had to wear arm warmers on lots of runs because of this. I have started to wearing those running leggings too. should I just htfu ? I sometimes go for a shower before and after a run as I get so cold.

    Try long sleeves? A jacket?
Can't see how a shower before a lung run would help in any way. If I'm doing a recovery run, where the body temperature won't rise significantly, I'll wear am extra layer. If doing a tempo, I'll wear an extra layer for the warm up and cool down. If doing a long run, I'll aim to be slightly cold starting, as I know I'll be cosy after 30 minutes. Have only worn the tights once this year, and that was close to midnight on a cold night.

Absolutely. I've lost close to 2.5 stone this year and I'm frozen at training. Proper miserable cold.
Once I do a few laps and warm up I'm grand but as soon as I stop again I'm shivering.
Geting keys in the ignition to get home has been an issue a few times!

Very little helps it, I go out with hat, gloves, buff, the whole works.

Getting warmed up asap is the only thing that works!!

If you're judging this predominately on the last two evenings then I wouldn't worry too much because it was excessively cold. It wasn't just you. I ran from Bray to town yesterday evening and I've never been as cold on a run.

Arm-warmers. Running tights. Honestly, what's up with the 'men' of this country:rolleyes:
Find yourself a nice cosy gym and while away the hours in there and you'll be grand.

However, I do find that after a long run when driving back home, the cold really gets into my bones and the only thing that brings life back into the body is a long hot bath.

Oh I forgot, I have thermal jocks also. I would love a warm bath but someone thought it would be a good idea to rip it out and just put in a shower :(

You need a new car with heated seats, I can't recommend them enough ;)

Regarding the cold, I find it so hard to judge what gear to wear and I rarely get it right.

That's why arm warmers are the base layer of the future, eh today.

I'm off now to take off my mascara

I chickened out of running outside one day last week when club training was called off (due to weather :P) and went to the gym.
Almost fell off the treadmill twice, sweated waaay more than I ever have outside in Ireland and got so bored I watched Nationwide on the telly.
    Never again.
Give me the sideways wind and rain anyway please and thank you, at least trying to run in a straight line provides some entertainment :pac:

I've lost nearly 8 stone over the last couple of years, at work I used to go round in winter in a tshirt, now I'm frozen no matter what I wear!
As for running I find I do get cold sometimes but I usually go out so I'm a bit cold and warm up runnin I find the long sleeve "compression tops" they have from time to time in lidl great in the cold weather.
