Sent heifers to factory yesterday only for dept man rang me today to say one of them came up as already slaughtered a few weeks ago a mix up with the cards I suppose but neither the vets or the person who blood ed them noticed it I have it since march apparently the two id numbers ended in the same number I wonder wat will happen now as this one seems to be in no mans land will I still get paid for her or will it fall back on the boy I bought from ?

    Did you buy both in?
I'd be bringing down factory that you killed first one in as the card should be irrelevant plus it was there mistake not yours for killing animal with wrong tag
Just make sure you have your own back covered

If she is in your herd Number you will get paid for her try and get the paper work done for her but once you get paid dont worry too much. Happens a lot here as I buy in all the calves from a few farmers and they have similar cow numbers.
