What was it running on?

Was just sitting in traffic behind a 2011 reg Vauxhal insignia CDTi taxi. The smell of it!

I don't know what it was running on but it wasn't diesel anyway. Like nothing I've smelled before, and real strong.

As he drove off there was a lot of (for the age of the car) white smoke. No hint of black or blue.

What could it have been running on?

Nope, not like chips. Didn't smell like any oil I've smelt before.

    Kryptonite or possibly U235?

Possibly a DPF regen, the smell out of a regen is criminal.

    Typical dirty DPF smell.

White 'smoke' might be head gasket going and letting antifreeze coolant into the combustion chambers?

Other possibility is that a large dose of injector cleaner put into fuel to clear out system?

I'd be saying DPF regen too. Makes the eyes water....

Very healthy and environmental though. Far preferable to loads of CO2 ;-)
