    Hi there,

Can anyone tell me why airlines change flight times so many times?

There are 20 of us going away on a stags with a disreputable airline who have changed the original flight time to the next day and then changed the times so that our time in teh sun is slowly being eroded to one day.We have had to change so many times our hotel arrangements etc.

Then the put the original flight back on that we had booked so we could maximise days in teh sun.Grant it we could get a refund but why/how can they change as it severly disrupts arrangements.

The part that annoys me most is moving the flight to the next day, meaning we miss a hwole day and then a few months later, putting back on teh original flight leaving us one day down on our holiday:mad:

Because it suits they business needs. Not too sure what kind of answer you expect here? Surely you've been given an option of a refund and decided not to go for it. Looks more like a rant to me than a genuine question.

    Basically for operational reasons/requirements.

Slot allocations might have changed- perhaps not to the place you're flying to, but possibly somewhere else, hence why they would swap the flight times around.

They often add extra or remove frequencies to some flights at short notice which naturally means they adjust their schedule

Is there a big event on in the same place?

I remember a few years ago when a certain Irish sports team (that rhymes with Shmunster) qualified for the final of a certain competition (that rhymes with Shmieneken Cup) a certain airline cancelled their flight to Cardiff Shmardiff for the day before the final, offering all the people who had booked it refunds.

Then miraculously the next day a totally different flight, that happened to be at exactly the same time, appeared on the system with significantly higher prices than the other flight!

Some people call it supply and demand ... others don't.

Yea,its more of a rant but also a question. How is it legal for them to put on a flight, cancel it,change it around a few times, then put back on the original flight.

Its the bank holiday weekend so im sure there lots going away .It was suggested that they cancelled the flights due to the demand as they thought they coudl put them back on at a later date with a higher price...surely this is illegal?

There is no great conspiracy about it and there's nothing illegal about it either. It might be annoying yes but there's nothing to stop them from doing it.

Have you at least read T&Cs? It's all there.
