Mira Elite 2 Electric Shower - Water pressure question

    Hi there

Just moved to a new apartment equipped with a Mira 2 Electric Shower.

The water flow is quite low when it's set to hot water.
The flow for the cold water is fine, quite powerful.

I noticed that the showerhead is not the one that would have originally been attached to the unit, would that make a difference?

It could be anything really but a few things to try. Take the hose off at the unit and see if it's any better. If not, you will need to kill the power at the Fuse board to the Shower. Take the cover off and you will find a filter on the flow pipe into the shower. Clean the filter and put it all back together and try. If your water is hard it could be full of limescale. Take the Shower head off at the end of the Hose see if it's flowing ok through the hose. soak the shower head in Vinegar and refit. It's basically a process of elimination.

    Cheers, will try that!

Does it make any difference that the cold water comes out at full power?

We had similar issue - found that the water in our area is quite hard. Taking off the shower head and cleaning it helped alot (soaking in vinegar or some other descaling solution) - we actually have to do this about 2\3 times a year.

Scale is the most likely cause. The fact that you have good cold pressure is a good sign that the problem is most like Scale.
The other problem I've come across is the Rubber Hose inside the
flexy Shower Hose perished. It might be worth just replacing it as there only a couple of Euro in the Euro Stores for a new one.

The shower hose and head are very important parts of an instant shower, and NEED to be of the origionally specified design, so you should replace them with origional parts as they regulate the flow, you have a clasdic case of allowing to much water through the head not allowing the required restriction for the instant shower to perform, you require a Mira RF1A shower head for the Mira Elite2 to function correctly :)
