Have ryegrass an crimson clover mix that I want to make first cut of in April 10. But as you can see it's gone past grazing, any ideas?

Chop it into the pit, ring the IFJ first to get a pic and drive Stan mad:D

If the weather remains like this here you should bale and have near the road cause it's looking like we'll be importing feed fairly soon here in Ireland.

I'm looking for silage and found it really difficult to source. In the end after many phone calls met a neighbour in the shop yesterday, told him the story and he said call down as he has loads.

Baling is not an option as I already have 500+ in stock. Anyhow it's only 16% dm.
Would it be ok to zero graze ?

Hard to say from the pics, looks a little stemmy. If you're happy that there's lot of leaf it would give your protein a good lift. If its leafy I zgraze it

I'd graze it if it's dry enough to carry machinery it'd carry cattle. If you put enough of them on it and move strip graze it there won't be much waste.

whatever you do. do it soon before another storm arrives

Gone past grazing as above my knee. They would trample more than they would eat. Also it's a large parcel with no fencing whatsoever

Recorded 610mm of rain since Xmas eve. Gave first application to winter wheat on Wednesday and got 17mm yesterday- it's turning out to be a difficult spring

Zerograze it. You won't bale it or graze it and even if you would, that is nice stuff to zerograze, fills a load fast and responds well to the clean cut of zerograzing.

If that was grazed/zero grazed or whatever on dec 12th and u have that kind of cover on it already, then that's it I'm selling up and moving to France! I thought our main advantage over the rest of Europe was our long growing season, u should see what covers on the fields I grazed in late november, zilch

Take her handy there. I could possibly have severe drought by May 20.
    However I will get 2 crops p.a.
