I recently lost my one parent tax allowance. The dept of social welfare decided that primary carer will only recieve this allowance.I have custody of my daughter couple of times a week as Im no longer with her mother.I still have a lot of outgoings financially looking after my daughter. The loss of the one parent tax allowance has seen my tax credits take a big drop and I at a big loss.My daughters mother is on disability benifit and so does not pay tax,so would I be able to claim as secondary carer or does anyone know if she gets an allowance through her disability benifit for the one parent scheme.I would be grateful for any help on this thanks
