Answering your own Question there I think!

Sounds like you'd be a good candidate for one! I had the same problem, and my solution when I'm adding a club that I'm not used to is to buy a cheap one off of a buddy (I just got a 3 wood and a 3 iron-hybrid for 50 bucks total from a friend back home). That way I can learn how to hit the club before I go sink a lot of money into a top of the line model.

I never found it easy to just go out and test a 3 wood off the deck when I'd never owned a fairway wood...that's kinda what got me started in this practice. But it does seem like, as mentioned, that you're answering your own question and should try one out!

Yes replace long irons with hybrids.i use 18 deg instead of 3 iron.

I used to use my 22 degree hybrid instead of an iron all the time until late last year I just couldn't hit it out of my way. Was topping / hooking / everything with it on the course even though it was working fine at the range.
Decided to go back using a 6 iron instead because I can hit is consistently and where I want it to go, sometimes I'm the right distance out for it, sometimes not - but I'd rather be short and in play than the lottery of hitting the hybrid!! I even tried slowing my swing right down when using it with mixed results.

Its still in the bag but I haven't used it the last 3 rounds.

Well i could be wrong but 22 is more a 4 iron than a 6 iron. That could help you on your distance .

I know that alright, but I hit my 6 iron a lot better than my 4 iron!!
I'm not worried about being short with the 6 as I know my ball will still be in play and in the general direction I was aiming!!

Could try few dit hybrid see what suits. Nothing wrong with staying in play agree with you.But a little more distance and staying in play happy days

Something tells me the answer to this question is more likely to be found with a club in your hand than a keyboard at your fingertips :-)

The answer could be hit a 1000 golf balls and see how you get on after that.

Personally I hate the sight of them and would have preferred if they never made an appearance in golf, where's the incentive to learn how to play a long iron now that hybrid replacements are so common. Quite sad also to see some iron sets only starting from a 5 iron and with the 3 iron nearly defunct altogether in sets.

Technological advancements...it's good for the game. There must be an advantage to being able to play the low irons or the best players in the world would carry hybrids instead. And if you're getting too much spin out of the hybrid you could always go with a 7 wood to a 4 iron gap...not much difference in that and woods have been around for quite some time. I see your point but if it's legal and it helps the common player then what's wrong with it?

Hybrids i find are great for bad lies and from the rough.but irons are more accurate for better ball strikers

Hybrids are a curse, they promise so much and deliver so little.
I used to hit my 3,4 Irons 170 to 190 yds with a decent degree of accuracy.
Switched to hybrids, now my accuracy is gone. Tried switching back, now as well a plenty of miss hits my distance is gone.
Why do we play this silly but great game.

I hit my hybrid from 190+ from green might hit a green side bunker sometimes but what you want from a 200 yard shot

I have 23 (150-160M), 19(160-170M) and 15 (170M+) deg in the bag. All working very well over the last couple of months. I expect distances will change come summer. Nice high launch and soft landing with the 19 and 23.

Let us know where you are based and maybe a Boardsie could give you a loan of one to try at the range.

To me they're a great addition to a bag, I've a 19 & 22 hybrid in mine & it gives me a club that I can take out on the tee & know I've got a club that will give me a great balance of length & ability to find the fairway.

They are a nice club to hit out of the rough & give an extra chance to hut a green from distance.

My pair are TM RBZ & I love them

You know that makes no sense at all, a 15 degree club should go further than 19 degree all things been equal, by the looks of it you have those numbers backwards.

Woops. My bad. Swap the 15 with the 23 of course.

For me personally it was a no brainer i took out my 4and 5 iron cause like you i struggle to hit them well .

Iv a TM burner 5 hybrid that i find so easy to hit and it will get me 150_170 yards depends on how well i strike it .

I bought a cheap Dunlop 3 hybrid a few weeks ago and id be abit hit and miss with it . But im a high handicap player so i get 2 shots on 10 holes so its not a club i need to use yet . I shot my PB yesterday and didnt use it once.

I have a 24 degree hybrid I got second hand for 40 euro. its in the bag for winyewr instead of 4 iron. Also have an 18 degree rescue which is great off the tee. Driver is now my friend again so thinking of dropping my 3 wood for summer to have both 24 degree and 4 iron - can shape and keep the iron low but hit the rescue higher and longer

Looking at the chart it has 18 deg a 2 iron
    my 18 deg is a 3 iron
    and i believe 22 is a 4 iron
Were did you get this chart lidl golf

My (Mizuno not Lidl) 4 iron has 24 degrees of loft. There are significant variations between manufacturers.

Sold my RBZ 3H tour version 18.5 deg It played longer than my 5 wood, so hardly a 3 iron replacement.
I would love a TM mc 3 iron I have searched high and low but no luck. Even tried foregolf they only have the new versions.
Not a hybrid fan bad shots are usually hooks. Maybe due to the heavy head not sure.

Yeah deffo find with hybrids you can easily get a big hook on them
