Birthday gift for acquaintance

    I was just wondering what to do really about a up coming birthday. The guy is someone I know through a friend, I pretty much meet him out the odd time and he's a Facebook friend but thats about it really. Not really had any friends hit 30 yet and because its a bigger occasion than 29 I was just wondering what the norm is really. Last 30th I was told not to bother with anything and just to turn up for a few beers and some craic.

    Buy him a pint. Or find out if the group that's heading out for the night are chipping in for a gift, and add a few euro accordingly.
