Looking at some other forums here on Boards, I notice many have a sticky at the top with "For Sale/ Wanted" where readers can post private ads. Any interest in this for Agri. stuff on this forum?

I think its a reasonable idea..
Many forums insist the item is advertised in the adverts section and then only a link & description posted in the forum.

Lads, 2 years ago we went to adverts.ie (Boards.ie's sister company) and got them to set up a farming section on their website. Ads are free on there. We also agreed that we would let anyone who posted an ad on adverts link it in posts here in order to promote it. We thought that it would have filled the void by giviing a dedicated platform which can be used for both for sale and wanted ads?

Myself and Rovi can discuss the merits of a specific thread or sticky as suggested if our arrangements for adverts.ie are not sufficient???

I think it's a good idea. I would be inclined to wander into it if's there in front of me when I open f&f.

Hi Reilig, for some reason I seldom look at adverts.ie. I keep an eye on the Classic Cars forum here, and notice that subscribers there stick up what they have (often on Adverts also) and let the regulars get a heads-up as to whats coming available or wanted, etc. Cheers, Nekarsulm.

Sorry - but I am not in favour :(

I dislike stickies, they rarely stay fresh...

That's what Adverts is for. I keep an eye on Adverts and it ain't that busy.
