Yeah I did it in 2013. Are you selling or buying?

There's 4 or 5 of us looking to join in with a group that are doing it on the June bank holiday weekend. More than willing to do any planning etc just we feel 4 isn't enough on our own .

Sorry, was a little bit of a tongue in cheek answer.

I've done it the other way - Mizen to Malin - twice in the last 2 years. That way you get the prevailing wind. First year I went by myself, did it in four days and was unsupported. Carried everything in panniers and a rucksack - but the rucksack ended up strapped to the panniers. Initally I cycled to Heuston and went from Dublin to Cork on the train then BusEireann to Goleen and then cycled to Barleycove ready to start the trip the next day.

Next morning I got up and cycled to Mizen took a photo then went back to Barleycove for breakfast. Day 1 finished at Listowel.

Day 2 I hit Clare via the Tarbert Ferry and finshed in Galway - stayed in a hostel on Eyre Sq and got kept up by some Aussie snoring all night.

Day 3 took me to just below Donegal Town in Rossnowlagh. Day 4 I finshed at Malin. Stayed overnight there then cycled back to Carndonagh and got a coach back to Dublin then cycled home.

Second time was fully supported and went with two others over 5 days

    Mizen --> Trallee --> Lisdoonvarna --> Claremorris --> Ballybofey --> Malin.

Enjoyed it and was good to have people to talk to but was always conscious of others needs where as when I was on my own I did my own thing and stopped whenever I felt like it.

So don't be put off by organising it yourselves and just going. You might have more of a laugh without having to worry about others who you don't know.

What distance roughly did you put up on those trips?

    Just over 600km each time

    1st time was split

    Day 1 - 179km
    Day 2 - 138km
    Day 3 - 195km
    Day 4 - 145km

    2nd time was

    Day 1 - 144km
    Day 2 - 124km
    Day 3 - 114km
    Day 4 - 169km
    Day 5 - 94km

I made a mistake above - on the 2nd trip we stopped in Claremorris not Oranmore.

Did an 800km trip back in 2009, Malin to Bundoran to near Westport to Galway to Lahinch to Tralee to Glengariff to Mizen. Took seven days excluding a rest day at the Galway races.

There's 4 of us looking to start at mizen head on the 29th may 2014. We're hoping to do it over 4 days . I used the following stops in 2011 , Tralee, kinvara, mullagmore, more than willing to join up with any groups and do our share of the organising and work on the road , most importantly !!!
