Thanks guys, it was also abandoned in 2006 following a crash, so that fills a couple of gaps.

I would hazard a guess, that Oliver McQuaid was riding for Emerald C.C. at that time.

Great to see my old mates name there in 1977.Peter Bidwell was only 16 and a first year junior when he won this race from yours truly.Sad to think that he has a memorial race of his own now.Your name will always be on the cup mate.
