I am renovating a 1950s house with pine cladding on some of the walls and I want to varnish it with a fire retardant paint/varnish.

Has anyone any suggestions for a product/vendor?

I used fire retardant varnish years ago and I remember it was a 2 step process first coat dried to a shiny finish and second coat was matt finish, this made it easier to see that all areas had been given 2 coats.

The link above may have a product suitable for you.
