I just received a reply from donedeal about this. Here it is...
    Hi,

Thank you for contacting us here at DoneDeal.

DoneDeal did NOT send you this EMAIL. Please do not enter any information in to this e mail.

We are currently working getting this site shut down, if you come across any further suspicious activity please let us know.

Please let me know if you have any further queries, our customer support team are always happy to help.

    Hope this helps!

    All the best,

    Amy.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Input your card details and tell us how much can be spent on it and we will send the money to you through a card :pac:

To send you money all they need is your account number and sort code. They don't need your card details or your pin :L

Run! ... run away now, very fast and dont submit

    Looks genuine, but

Donedeal would host the form on their site, facilitespace.com host the form, so that sticks out for me

Also, the website address is http:// and not https:// which means the information you submit is not encrypted and most definitely not securely sent to the receiver. You have no idea where its going or who its going to

The form asks for your 3d secure password... You are NEVER asked for this by any site other than your bank, you're redirected at all times to the verified by visa page and only there should it be entered, not within the form itself

They also ask for very personal info like mothers maiden name as its a very common method of verification, but has no relevance or reason for asking for it

I do have to give them some credit for making a plausible website but unfortunately it's a fake. Fortunately for you, by asking, you've been saved from a scam

A quick look at the screen would tell you something is not quite right...

1/ They claim to use 128 bit encryption but there's no evidence of it on the web address (there usually is some grey lock to the left of whatever web address you type in if it really is encrypted)
2/ Tacky graphics such as the Verified by Visa logo....how does it compare to something like iTunes or internet banking (not well)
3/ None of the donedeal links work (so try going into 'cars' or 'motorbikes')
4/ Does it sound to good to be true???? (150 euro for filling out a survey?.....the only place you could make that amount of money for that amount of effort is the Lotto)

That right there should have been enough to prove that this was a scam, right from the beginning

It's good that you eventually did suspect as much and didn't get caught, but honestly I don't know how anyone could think it was genuine at all

+1, yes its a pretty poor attempt.

The smarter scam artists will put up a new site which could have a name like

    www.donedeal.surveys.ie

some people will wrongly think this must be linked to the original, and at a glance view it like they would view www.donedeal.ie/surveys

Lots of scam emails from paypal or ebay are from addresses like

    info@paypal-security.com

It is easy to create a fake email like this.

    Hi there,

i will be offering 6,500 am a marine officer in UK i will contact a legitimate shipping company that will come for pick up after payment clears.what is the mode of payment? am a verified paypal member i can effect the payment now if you have an account with PayPal and the vehicle will be picked up after payment clears and the shipping agent will do all the signing of the log book.

Yes, definitely a scam. They'll send you too much money for the car through Paypal and ask that you take the balance and send it to their shipper via Western Union. Paypal will find out they've been using an account or card on their account fraudulently, take the money back off you and you'll be down the 'shipping' fee with no way to recoup it

Also the name is like something out of full metal jacket! Most legitimate people will give their full name.

    Got this recently
"I am David Ellis Head of Inspection Unit United Nations Inspection Agency in Harts field-Jackson International Airport Atlanta, Georgia. During our investigation, I discovered An abandoned shipment through a Diplomat from United Kingdom which was transferred from JF Kennedy Airport.

To our facility here in Atlanta, and when scanned it revealed an undisclosed sum of money in 2 Metal Trunk Boxes weighing approximately 110kg each. The consignment was abandoned because the Content was not properly declared by the consignee as money rather it was declared as personalEffect/classified document to either avoid diversion by the Shipping Agent or confiscation by the relevant authorities. The diplomat's inability to payfor Non Inspection fees among other things are the reason why the consignment is delayed and abandoned.

By my assessment, each of the boxes contains about $4M or more. They are still left in the airport storage facility till today. The Consignments like I said are two metal trunk boxes weighing about 110kg each (Internal dimension: W61 x H156 x D73 (cm) effective Capacity: 680 L) Approximately. The details of the consignment including your name and email on the official document from United Nations' office inLondon where the shipment was tagged as personal effects/classified document is still available with us. As it stands now, you have to reconfirm yourFull name, Phone Number, full address so I can cross-check and see if it corresponds with the one on the official documents. It is now left to you todecide if you still need the consignment or allow us repatriate it back to UK (place of origin) as we were instructed.

Like I did say again, the shipper abandoned it and ran away most importantly because he gave a false declaration, he could not pay for the yellow tag, hecould not secure a valid non inspection document(s), etc. I am ready to assist you in any way I can for you to get back this packages provided you will also give me something out of it (financial gratification). You can either come in person, or you engage the services of a secure shipping/delivery Company/agent that will provide the necessary security that is required to deliver the package to your doorstep or the destination of your choice. I need all the guarantee that I can get from you before I can get involved in this project.

    Best Regards,

    David Ellis

    INSPECTION OFFICER"

Would this really fool anyone, typo's and all?

Well a lot of the scammers are complete idiots, many have been scammed themselves.

People have led scammers on and got them to do ridiculous tasks or photo poses, or lengthy tasks like writing out the harry potter books, or get tattoos.

Like that website,i have done this on a small scale playing along with phone scammers but its harder to do than you think, they get aggressive very quickly if they suspect anything ,5-10 mins max and they will start screaming obscenities or bang the phone down. But if everyone they ring messes them around it might help deter them a bit.
