    Hi all,

when it comes to milk tests the SCC and TBC readings have been around for years.... recently this thermoduric bacteria test has been conducted on milk supplies to the creamery. What is a good reading for this test? e.g. I got 160 last test????

    Thanks in advance.

I am guessing that is 160/ml. I don't think this is a very high figure but given that the milk has been pasteurised for that test I could be wrong.
The thermoduric bacteria test is a good indication of how good your hygiene in the parlour is as the equipment and outside of the quarters is the main source of the bacteria as unless the cow has mastitis very little if any bacteria will be in the actual milk.
