French mocks

Hi, Am correcting my mocks at the moment. It is my first time correcting Leaving Cert Higher Level French. Should it be taking me almost 30mins per paper? They are my own class but I'm not writing any comments or even looking at the names! Junior German took approx 20 mins per paper. It seems like I am spending most of my mid-term 'break' correcting! Am I being slow, or does it take that long?

I can't speak for French but correcting the Leaving Cert Higher Level Irish paper would take me nearly an hour. :(
3 papers per student in total.
So that is what I have been doing every day.
Hoping to be done by tomorrow so I can enjoy the weekend.

That's awful! I have 3 exam classes of my own and have ended up with 2 extra sets (long story). I am not seeing the finish line and feel more stressed than if I was still in school! Will just keep correcting so... Good luck to you too.

Maybe you're doing it already but just in case you're not..

I don't correct mine paper by paper. If you correct comprehension 1 on each paper one after another you get much more in touch with the required answers - whats acceptable and what not. Then move on and do the same with comprehension 2.

Similarly, with the aural I open up all the booklets, then correct all section 1 before moving onto section 2.. I fly through them this way.

Then when correcting the written I mark all the same themed answers in a row. This way I feel it is more fair as I can see the differing levels and not compare the question to the ability of the persons paper but to the standard of the other candidates.

Hugely agree with unknowngirl, page by page or question by question. You mark more consistently and also get into a rhythm so it's much quicker. Also, you say you're not looking at students names, but it's actually not even possible to look at students names this way, good for anonymity and fairness :)
