KILDARE LOSES BMW MAIN DEALER

Just looked at bmw.ie and it seems n conlans are only bmw service/ parts dealers now. Did they lose or give up the franchise ? They spent quite a few quid building premises to BMW standards about 10 years ago so seems strange.

I was surprised that they became L/R main dealers about a year ago as bmw wouldn't usually allow a dealer to see another brand alongside but they obviously knew then they would not be main dealer for much longer.

I know conlans are long established and have good reputation but theres a certain rough and readiness about them - they have all types of used vehicles - some with huge mileages and prices to match ! not surprised they struggle to sell. !

Their very rural location also wasn't ideal for bmw dealer , they should really have moved bmw into their Naas/ Newbridge premises and had Peugeot / land rover and used vehicles in Rathangan.

Loads of estates in their yard, really weird sight at any Irish dealers.

Love the shouty thread title OP, real "it's a catastrophe, Joe" buzz. Must be after knocking value off houses all over the area. ;-)

They'll still sell a BMW in Kildare on the sly. They wanted Land rover so BMW had to go from there.

They're sunonomous with BMW really. Why would they go with LR, I would have thought they'd be a much harder sell. And in the past at least presumably more grief with aftersales warranty work.

So that's why I was talking to someone in Rathangan who'd run a quote In Limerick.

Wasn't aware they were no longer BMW in Kildare....
