You need to sign up for a QQ account for this. Be careful!

I have used QQ and Tencents Wechat etc
it is no more intrusive than Goolge/Gmail - less so really

Internet Surveillance in China is surely not a surprise ? as storage for Photos etc I think it might be a useful option

What is it like to use - upload and download speed?
is there an app-less way of getting to your data?

this seems to good to be true therefore it probably is. Can someone tech minded outline the pros' and cons. would this be worthwhile?

I'm not an expert, but I'd say the pros and cons go something like this:

    PRO - its free

    CON - its China

I wouldn't sign up. There are too many questions than answers. Many of the established players in this market have free storage. Dropbox, Google, Microsoft, The Box. There are even client [apps to the young] that allow you to manage them all from the one app.

    Run a mile.

Microsoft One Drive just launched (Formerly Skydrive) Free 7GB when you sign up.

And if you follow their Twitter Account today, They are going to make an announcement, and the first 100,000 People will be given 100GB storage free.

    To put this into perspective:

    10 TB = 10000000000000 bytes = 10^13 bytes = 10000 gigabytes.

Can you be a little clearer on that?
How do you win the 100Gb access?

You could just put it on your own metal with owncloud or seafile with a self-signed cert....

Take complete ownership of your data...

The Mobile app is in Chinese which is okay for me because I know (basic) Chinese. It's actually quite easy to use once you understand the layout and must icons are self-explanatory anyway.
