Almera timing chain issue

I have a Nissan almera 1.5 N16. I had a cam sensor fault which happened to be a timing chain. I had this replaced. I now have a crank shaft sensor fault and the car seems to tick over fine. But when drive it it can loose power and the fault light comes on dash board with crank sensor issue. I have also replaced the battery and the wiring loom to the immobiliser. Any ideas on what can be causing the crank error now after replacing these issues

I had a similar problem with Nissan Almera 1.5, brought it to local garage(not nissan). He replaced crank shaft sensor. Cost for sensor and fitting was 60 euro. Problem solved. That was six months ago.

ok have said to swap the cam and crank sensors to see if happens but they said not the same. Called Nissan and confirmed they are. Bit worried the garage not seem to know what doing. They quoted £68+ vat for sensor. Seems a bit steap

they are the same sensors so you can just swap them and see if it throws up a cam fault.

There should be no need to go changing them around, the garage should be able to test the sensors output, timing etc.

Swapped sensors around now no fault codes. But car keeps cutting out when driving it. Cuts out then restarts immefiately. Really getting annoyed with it now. Chain done, immobilizer wiring, fuses and relays. Anyone help please

Is it only when you are coming to a stop when you put the clutch in that she stalls by any chance?

A faulty crank sensor will make running difficult to impossible all on its own. Id just replace that first. They usually give a little warning before going completely but also usually dont illuminate any fault light because while the signal isnt what it should be, it is still there so the Ecu will use it. I nearly replaced a fuel pump on a clio because the engine would need to turn over for six seconds before beginning to fire and another four seconds before it would run on its own. Once running, it was fine but felt slightly hesitant under acceleration. No engine light being on led me to assume everything was ok so the fuel pump seemed the next best thing (00 clio with 188,000 Miles so pump owed nothing ) I had no acess to diagnostics but decided at the last minute to replace the sensor instead on advice from a more experienced mechanic. It was a whole new car!

Had a different sensor in. Ran ok but light came on. Swapped for another crank sensor no light but has rhis issue. I swapped it for cam sensor which worked fine. It happens mainly when take foot of gas pedal, dip clutch or slow down.

I think you should think about cleaning the pipes to the throttle body and the throttle itself. The MAF too.

The original problem turned out to be a timing chain. Cam sensor fault. Was pain to start. But once had worked fine. Timing chain replaced, battery, immobiliser wiring, fuses, relays. No engine lights. So seems logical to be the throttle body or valve dirty

Update- throttle body and valve cleaned. Changed cam and crank sensors for ones known to work still same cut out issue. Help please
