Be on the lookout . A nice drying day like today after a lot of bad weather is the day they seem to go on their backs. Think it's the wool drying off but I don't think anyone knows for sure

Found a hogget on her back today on her last breath. Frothing at the mouth. Think she was choking .

Turned her up and she's the finest. I'd say she wouldn't have lasted another 5mins . Lucky

U were lucky. If it would warm up a bit we could shear them

Saved a hogget like this 2 weeks ago and got them sheared the next day.

When the wool is drying they get itchy and go rolling to scratch , if you put something in the field to scratch on it helps, one of the advantages of autumn shearing is less ewes on there back in may / June
