    Hi,

    Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong forum.

    I was just wondering how does open office compare to MS Office in terms of functionality for Word, Excel & power point?

    Has anyone switched from MS to Open & was there any difficulty regarding reading and saving old MS files?

    Thanks.

    It's free ... just download and try it.

    In my experience the vast majority of people use very little of their office suite apps no matter which one you choose;

    Depends on what functionality you use.

    In general I have found Open/Libre Office more than capable for me.

    I think that there may be issues with certain file formats (generally newer) but as Croo says it's free - download it and see if it can open the files you need, and if you can do the things that you need to do when using them..
