If you want to have a cheap stag then going overseas for a weekend isn't an option! Personally I'd be raging if I was invited to a hen overseas, I think I would decline as it would cost an arm and a leg.

Would you consider having your party locally?

Berlin is class, cheap, loads to see, loads to do. Nice bars, banging clubs. We did some activities through an agency, but you'd be better off sorting some stuff out yourself. The Beer-Bike looks like great craic.

Was in Ibiza, but that was last summer, cheap enough unless you go to the huge clubs.

Barcelona was OK, lots of beach bars during the day, option to go see the stadium etc. Decent nightlife, but Las Ramblas was very sleazy once the sun went down. Keep your hands in your pockets.

Was in Prague last year for a Stag and found it excellent,a little hunting online gets you good quality cheap accommodation and a night out is cheap over there, check out places like the beer factory who do food and pull your own pints

When I had my stags 2 years ago I had thought about places like you mentioned but only some of my friends would have been able to afford it so I decided on Manchester for 3 nights. Worked out at €120 each for flights and accomodation and it was the best weekend ever. Every who went said the same (maybe they were just trying to make me feel good though :D )

Are all the people who you are inviting up for forking out for flights abroad? Can they all afford it? If not would you consider somewhere in the UK or Ireland. September can be pretty expensive hotel wise.

Personally I wanted all my mates there but only if they could afford it and if I had have went to Berlin, Barcelona etc only about half could have went. I much preferred a cheaper venue with more of my friends/family been able to go.

You mentioned Krakow and Budapest - I've been to Krakow a couple of times and thought it was a very good spot, the locals are sound, beer and food are very cheap and its a lovely city. Good nightlife too.

Budapest is a lot bigger than Krakow and has a good reputation for nightlife, I was there last year and while there are some pretty cool clubs and bars, you're far more likely to get ripped off by taxi drivers and stuff. Its a nice city for a weekend break but I wouldn't bring a stag do there.

If you've got your heart set on getting out of Ireland, I think you could do worse than go to the UK, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, there's no language barrier. Also, you have a much better idea of the worth of Sterling compared to Zloty or whatever (Obviously this isn't a problem if you go to a country which uses the Euro). Thirdly, most of the UK is going to be an hour's flight max, so you don't have a long journey home when you're hanging. I've been to a lot of cities there and the likes of Liverpool (having my best mate's stag there in August, incidentally), Edinburgh, Cardiff or Newcastle are as good as you'll get anywhere. Also, as gazzer above mentions, it would be a little easier on the pocket, flightswise at least.

a stags abroad is generally cheaper than a stag weekend in Ireland. These days with the right planning you can book return flights cheaper than you can a return train ticket to Galway from Dublin same with accomadation etc. food and drink tends to be cheaper too

Ive been to many foreign stags Bristol, Munich, Leeds, Lisbon, Madrid etc everytime we have managed to get flights and accomadation (2 nights) for under €200 per person

with all due respect, comparing a hens and a stags is a bit irrelevent. Hens tend to be one night affairs where as stags tend to be a full weekend. I have no idea why this annomoly exists but thats how it is so comparing one with another really doesnt work.

Saying a foreign stag costs an arm and a leg however isnt true at all.

If you are going to go to the likes of Newcastle, Manchester why not look into hiring an apartment or 2 (depending on how many of you are going). Thats what I did and it worked out really cheap. Got a 2 x 2 Bedroom apartments in the heart of Manchester that 10 of us stayed in and it worked out at only €75 each for the weekend.

We are currently planning my friends hen to Liverpool, we are flying Waterford to Manchester (we live in waterford,5 mins from the airport) for €100 per person and we got a fantastic prepay rate in the central Travelodge which has great reviews for €50 per person (for 2 nights!)

I really recommend Flybe for group travel, they have been great, we just had to pay a deposit and the rest is to be paid 6 weeks before we fly.

Anywhere in Germany is great for a stag. One thats not often mentioned is Dusseldorf. The aldstadt is a great ol spot. If ya fancy a change of scenery for one of the nights the likes of Cologne, Dortmund, Bonn are only a train journey away. It'd be 20 odd degrees over there in September too.

Was in Bournemouth for a weekend last year-lovely beach but wouldn't think it would be a place for a stag. Found the nightlife pretty limited. I think in the UK if you're looking for a party weekend you're better off going North- the nightlife is much crazier up there!
