Software defined radio Dongle issue.

    SDRSharp works with the DVBT dongle for 5 minutes or so and then stops and an error comes up stating USB device not recognised and something about your device may have stopped working.
    I have to the pull it out,In again and the same issue repeats.
    Works perfect otherwise.
    Are these dongles known to get hot as my one those.
    Any advice.

    Yes they're known to get hot.. Mine do too. Not super hot but surprisingly warm to to the touch when in use. I don't have this disconnecting problem but it sounds like it could have something to do with that. In fact I wonder if they're not taking more power than the 2.5W permitted by USB.

    I find the minis the best for heat and performance. They're the little square ones about the size of a euro coin (excluding the USB plug). The bigger ones get hotter for some reason, which I didn't expect since they have much more surface area to dissipate the heat.

    The bigger ones are way easier to do the baseband mod on of course. But if you just want to plug in and use it I'd get the mini.
