I ask because I was passing the airport today and the Windsock was still flying, I might be wrong but isn't one of the requirements for a closed airfield, the removal of the Windsock? Plus, it might just be the angle I'm looking from, but I don't see an X on the runway on west side.

Galway flying club still operate from the airport with EI-NFW,MCG and BJO. the hope is that it will open as a GA airport in a few months. until then only club aircraft are allowed to use it.
