    Hi,

Currently working Cork and wish to move back home..originally from Dublin and trying in vain to get back there. Finding it very difficult to get interviews even though i am very well qualified in what i do.
I think whats going against me is the fact that i work in the public sector.
I want out of the public sector altogether and to go back to industry.

No disrespect to cork people but when i put down Cork on my CV is that offputting for Dublin employers?
Should i give my original home address on my CV?

As a cork person here, I had my CORK Address on my CV when applying to companies in Dublin, and managed to get 9 interviews in Dublin within a month. And that's the god honest truth.

No offense but maybe it's just that your CV does not stand out from the crowd!

Is it obvious from your CV that you're currently working in Cork? If so, then changing your address might not make much difference. If in doubt, just remove it altogether and just include a contact number and email address.

Generally there are enough issues with a CV's content to exclude it before they filter by where in Ireland you're based.

Yes that's a good idea. I am aware that the competition is very tough for decent well paid jobs.

To the other poster... Wow all those interviews in one month.. Well my CV may not be " up to scratch" as you say...but YOU mustn't be up to scratch if after all those many interviews you have secured...you still haven't got a job!!
