Calves stiff...can I go running?

Put calves to the test over the weekend, a 22 mile trail run Saturday and then winter climbing yesterday. Anyone who has spent a few hours in crampons will know how it can test the backs of the legs.

Anyway, calves a bit sore today. Is it okay to do a run later or should one wait till that wears off? Is it nature's way of saying go easy and is there a greater risk of injury, or if I stretch them is it safe enough to go straight back into action?

Easy runs are fine, I'd largely avoid speedwork however.

Nothing better than a 20-30minute easy run(grass) the next day.Stretch gently after and massage if possible.
