Data over usage

    Hi
I was hit with a very large bill from 02 this month saying that I had gone over my limit.

I have never gone over my limit before and I'm wondering if this is happening to a lot of people at this time. I notice, even on my phone which has 500mb, the limit is almost reached this month and I'm not even half way.

I don't stream movies or download music. I use facebook, dailymail, bit of email, whattsapp.. that's it. It seems strange to me and I'm completely paranoid now.

    Thanks

    I use facebook, dailymail,Thanks

That's a lof ot images and video. You need a new mobile internet provider. Nearly all of them give you 1GB to 15GB monthly, depending on tarriff.

How much are you paying monthly?

Meteor do 1GB for €20 billpay 30 day contract
eMobile do 15GB for €32 billpay 30 day contract
Three do unlimited [15GB fair use ish] for €20.33 billpay 30 day contract
Vodafone do 1GB for €30 billpay 30 day contract

Hi RangeR... thanks for the information and prices. The wifi is with 02 and my phone is with vodafone. Wifi has 15GB and the phone 1GB. I don't know what happened this month but the usage on both was really high. I've had to switch mobile data off because there's only 46mb left!!

I'm being really careful from now on and monitoring the usage. Still seems strange to me.... Thanks again...

I have O2 well Tesco for mobile internet, I get 5GB per month for €10 (I think) and it stacks monthly. So I now have 8GB getting around 8-10Mb down. I'd recommend them, depending on your location.

    What phone do you have?
If Android, go into Settings -> Data Usage.
It will tell you what rogue applications are eating your data.

You little beauty RangeR.... Unified Daemon (EUR) has been gobbling a load of data... 226mb.. what the hell is that for..?

Just googled it and found this

Have you any apps that check weather or stocks? That could be it...

Hi... I did a google as well... very interesting... and yes... the weather app updates.. unfortunately I've not stocks to check lol...

Here's what i found too... from someone else having this problem...
This issue started after the Samsung update. I tried this in January when the process used over 2 GB of data between 2am and 6am when it ran the battery down and shut the phone off. The service turned itself back on and kept using data, so I disabled it by turning it off. After the new billing cycle began, I tried turning it back on, this time it used 250 MB of data after I went to bed one evening. Clearing the data does nothing to stop this from using massive amounts of data. I would like for this to be fixed, however, because with it off, the Briefing alarm doesn't update the weather and it no longer reads the news stories. This was never a problem until the latest Samsung OS update. Is there an estimated date when this will be fixed? My favorite feature of the phone is the briefing alarm which has been disabled by stopping this Unified Daemon (EUR).

Thank you so much... this is what I was looking for.. .because I knew there was something causing a massive leak... you're very kind.. much appreciated.
