What kind of a budget had you in mind?

I recon you would be better off with a wide angle rather than a zoom...

Sigma 10-20mm for landscapes is a great buy.

hey thanks for getting back to sorry i have been offline for a few days, i am in singapore t the minute so my budget will go a bit further than at home so about 300e is my budget.
i have decided its a zoom lens i will use more/want more
so its now to decide which one, i have had a half look t a tamron AF 18-200 f/3.5 6.3 zoom lens or the canon equivalent, would you have any advice or suggestion,

It's a funny one, I always thought I'd use a zoom lens far more, until I got a wide angle lens. I now make that work for me.
It's also amazing the difference in light it lets in.

How and ever, that Tamron lens is quite bright, so well wear!

I would recommend you go for a zoom with less range and constant aperture f2.8, it's a bit more expensive but much better.

I'm using the Tamron 17-50 VC 2.8. I find it really good.

Add a couple more bucks and get Canon 70-200 f4 L then. If you are after a zoom you will not be disappointed.

He's shooting landscape though, that focus range including the crop factor won't do.
