    Hi,

I have a Electrolux Insight oven.

Friday gone the oven would not light up when we tried to turn it on. We could smell the gas it just wouldnt light.

The grill worked then until this morning. When we went to use it it was the same as the oven.

    All the hobs work fine.

Any idea what is going on?

    Could I fix it myself?

    Thanks,

    Pat.

HI PAT, you don't mess with gas, go back to your retailer and get them to get an RGI service engineer to fix it

If you need to ask this, then you already know the answer.

Do you have mains, tank or bottled gas? You might be running out.

Gas is from mains. I can smell gas when I turn the oven on. It just wont ingnite. Same with the grill oven above it.

If its some sort of easy fix I might try my hand at it but anything else I will stay well clear of it.

it is probably the igniter module but electricity is just as dangerous as gas

Ya im going to leave it to the experts.

You wouldn't have an idea if it is a costly repair?

I have fitted modules that have cost close to 90 euro plus fitting, I am not saying its faulty 100% without seeing it but from your description it sounds likely, the only thing that ignites the gas is a spark which must be missing if you can smell gas when turned on. Ring wherever you bought it and ask how much a call out is or if they can put you in touch with an engineer, that way you can decide what to do

I rang a crowd today who said they will send out a lad to look at it Wednesday. 70 euro just for the call out.
