Alexandrite Engagement Ring

    Hi Guys,

    I am trying to get an an Alexandrite engagement ring for my girlfriend. I've been researching online for some time now and I think I have 2 options but would like some advice either way.
    Here are the options as I see them:
    Option 1. Find a jeweller in Dublin who will order i the stone and make the ring for me. Ive been to and contacted a few places . Although a few have mentioned the possibility of ordering in a stone specifically for me, they didn't seem to have any expertise or seem too enthused, it seemed like it was more hassle than it was worth for them. Do people know of or have any experience with places that specialise with non-diamond or coloured stone engagement rings?
    Option 2. Import the stone myself and find someone to make it. I was considering using multicolour.com. Has anyone had any experience using them? Does anyone have any recommendations for people to design and make an engagement ring if you already have a stone? What kind of price range should I expect to pay for the setting if I had my own stone, for a solitaire setting for example.

    I have a sterling silver amethyst engagement ring. When I went searching for silver wedding ring to be honest I got laughed out of shops. I found a jeweller in Enniscorthy in Wexford who designed a custom silver ring for me. He has also replicated an earring I lost the pair of years ago & makes custom stuff (including my sister in laws engagement ring). If you PM me I'll pass on his details. He makes all custom jewellry & if you have an idea in your head he'll work with you to get it perfect.

    He will naturally be able to give you more information regarding ordering etc etc
