Alexandrite Engagement Ring

    Hi Guys,

I am trying to get an an Alexandrite engagement ring for my girlfriend. I've been researching online for some time now and I think I have 2 options but would like some advice either way.
Here are the options as I see them:

Option 1. Find a jeweller in Dublin who will order in the stone and make the ring for me. Ive been to and contacted a few places . Although a few have mentioned the possibility of ordering in a stone specifically for me, they didn't seem to have any expertise or seem too enthused, it seemed like it was more hassle than it was worth for them. Do people know of or have any experience with places that specialise with non-diamond or coloured stone engagement rings?
Option 2. Import the stone myself and find someone to make it. I was considering using multicolour.com. Has anyone had any experience using them? Does anyone have any recommendations for people to design and make an engagement ring if you already have a stone? What kind of price range should I expect to pay for the setting if I had my own stone, for a solitaire setting for example.

Thanks in advance I know I am asking several questions here but any advice appreciated.
