I'm guessing the wind has moved the dish as it lost channels on Wednesday night. before i call someone out I want to do a few basic checks myself.
The box is a Technomate TM5200D. It gives me some information, the Level is 92%, Quality is 20%. What does this mean?

    What do I do next?

Your dish has been moved by the wind and will need a slight re allignment. if you can do this yourself nudge it against the direction of the prevailing wind

It's on top of a high and difficult to access roof.
Is there nothing else I can try before awlling someone to go up there?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

If all connections seem OK, you could try your box at a friends house with a known working dish just to confirm the box is OK. Most likely though, it is your dish that has moved slightly given the recent weather.

There is usually no need for a dish to be high up: there is no 'height gain' effect like with terrestrial reception.

Sometimes there is a need to allow the dish 'see' over an obstruction such as trees or buildings but, generally, just out of harms way is the best location, allowing easy access.

Of course there are also aesthetic concerns but those are purely subjective.
