Hi, revising over and forgot how tricky the titration question calculations are... I'm getting most of the answers just wondering.

If I have a 1L 0.1 Molar solution and half it i.e. it becames 500cm cubed does that still contain 0.1 Molars or do you half that two?

Molar means moles per litre, so it remains a 0.1M solution but because it's not a litre, it's 500ml, it contains 0.05 moles.

    thanks alot :)

An easy way to remember these things (it took me a while to really 'get' moles etc) is that number of moles = Concentration (in M or moles/L) x Volume (in Litres).

    So in this case n = 0.1 moles/L x 0.5L = 0.05 moles :)
