I have had a couple of Humax Sat boxes over the past few years with a Freesat EPG working very well on them. I got a LG smart TV last week with a built in satellite receiver and all I seem to get is FTA stations set up. Is it possible to get a Freesat stations set up on this type of receiver. Also I am looking for a USB memory to put on the set for Pause live TV and a small amount of recording. I bought a 32Gb USB stick but the TV wont record on it.
(I posted this on wrong Bloc earlier)

Maybe it needs to be formatted in NTFS?

No Freesat on current-model LG TVs. They did make a Freesat TV a few years back.

Is it a FreeSat Tv rather than just FTA?
Did you set country to UK not Ireland?

Yes when I could not get Freesat I reset country to UK . Is the same satellite and broadcasting platform used for Freesat and FTA

Yes they are the same satellites at 28° but the TV software will only allow FreeSat when set to UK. However some TVs have FTA satellite tuners but not the FreeSat software.

Same satellites & programmes. Freesat is just an EPG, some interactive features &, OTA fixes for channel frequency changes.
