Hi lads, I was looking at this deal which my friends are interested in doing ( http://golf.justtreats.com/ire/deal/dublin/kclub-palmer14-ire ) and thought to myself there has to be a better quality mini get away I could steer them towards.

This isn't a discussion about that deal, more looking for advice from any of the more well travelled golfers on the forum. So, for the same budget (circa €200 a head) has anyone any recommendations for me. Would like to play a quality course on a Sunday, stay somewhere nearby that night, then another nice course on the Monday. I was thinking something along the lines of Enniscrone the Sunday of the Masters then Carne the following day but wherever we play we'd probably be driving from Dublin on the Sunday morning and returning home on the Monday evening because of various work commitments so maybe that's a bit too far?

    All suggestions welcome, thanks!

Did Carne and Enniscrone before great trip. We stayed in Ballina, drove down the night before. Played Carne first (hour or so from Ballina) and Enniscrone the second day (20 mins).

You could also look at any two from Enniscrone, Rosses Point and Murvagh. Base yourself in sligo.

Or if your willing to spend an extra hour or two in the car the two courses in Roseapenna or the two in Ballyliffin would be an option.

Price might go up but Dooks and Waterville or the Two Ballybunnions (€110 for both till End of April).

Renting holiday homes can work out cheap for accommodation if you have a few people

Not even close, while the Kclub is great to stay in once in a blue moon, for a golf trip you should go to Sligo and do Carne Enniscrone, stay in Ballina. It's the best golf for your money. The drive is not that bad, we stayed in the Hotel Ballina has a pool, short taxi to village for drink

The K club is also pretty boring if truth be told, unless you are spending rest of the time shagging in those massive beds, which would require a consenting golf buddy

Hi there. It's a bit close to Dublin but we stayed in Tulfarris near Blessington last summer. Golf, dinner, bed and breakfast €90. Great course too. We played Rathsallagh too for €30 so €120 and you are done which is great value for money in these times.

I recommend €123 - 3 course deal of Mount Juliet, Waterford Castle & Faithlegg.
Stay in Faithlegg as they have great accommodation deals all the time.
