There's the odd Facebook page for towns that may have some relevant info but I think I'm missing out on something. This thread led me here in…

wouldnt say there are many shops opening in rural ireland these days!

I would say the best thing you will find is the shops opening/closing threads in the regional forums on here! The Galway one seems to be especially active.
