Any ideas what could be wrong, can get all Irish Channels but no other channels, tried doing the software update (holding the back up button), but that had no effect.

What do you mean 'only the irish channels'? Give us a list of what you're getting and what happens when you try to go to a different 'non Irish' channel.

Getting, Rte, Tv3 two hd etc though the sky box but I'm getting no uk channels it just says your sky box is not receiving a satellite signal.

I only have a sky box I doth have tv channels any other way with an aerial etc so I'm not on the wrong input.

I'm speculating that the LNB is the issue, try channel 123 (Sky Living +1) and let me know if it works.

Yea sky living + 1 works just tried it, Sky living doesn't though.

Does Sky two Ireland work, it's on the same transponder.

Hmm, strange one I suspect a dodgy LNB, both the irish transponder and living +1 are horizontal. Name something definitely not working. You can see what channels are grouped together on transponders here

Sky Living is horizontal too so that rules out that theory, but still could be a dodgy LNB or dish slightly offline. I think you need someone with a meter to solve this one

Basically there are 4 bands that your box uses to tune in the channels, it signals the LNB which band to use, there is

Horizontal Lo: RTE channels you have at the moment
    Horizontal Hi: 111 Dave
    Vertical Lo: 141 BBC NI
Vertical HI: 106 Sky One (Ireland)

If you can only receive the channels from one band or two paired bands (e.g. Horizontal Lo + Hi or Vertical Lo and Horizontal Lo) then there is an issue with your LNB or your Sky boxes ability to signal to the LNB which band it want's to use.

Handiest thing is to try the box in someone else's house or try a different box in your house, that will pinpoint the problem.

Have u tried turning it off at the mains for 15 mins then plugging it back in. I had the same problem lately and engineer advised doing this as and it worked.
Although as already stated it could be an lnb issue

Anything I can try in the installer menu etc, tried switching the lnb power on and off.
It's basically the Irish channels I mentioned in standard and hd, sky living +1 works and sky 2, 3e doesn't work, bbc2 hd tries to work but just fails you can hear a bit of sound and there was a picture cutting in and out (Olympics) but it gave up.
    BBC NI 1&2 work.
As I flick through some channels try and work like sky Atlantic +1 but like bbc2 hd stop.

OP stated he already updated the firmware which is a step beyond turning it off and on again.

More than likely it's misalignment or damage to your dish. Might be worth posting a photo of the dish, though anything obvious enough to show in a photo would probably be obvious to yourself just looking at it.
