E4, E4+1, More4 not pausing

    Here's weird one, just noticed the above channels won't pause, getting a 'Live pause is not available please call the broadcaster for assistance'

    Rebooted the box but still not working, anybody else or just me?

    Ok, now it half works, if the EPG banner is being displayed it won't work and I get the above error message but if it's not being displayed the channel will pause.

    I noticed last night that the EPG banner on those channels was a couple of hours behind what was on. Maybe related? I haven't checked today yet.

    Yeah, noticed that last night too.

    E4 now back working but E4 +1 still not working.

    I tried a couple of those channels earlier and live pause wouldnt work either - just got a pop-up message to say about contacting provider or Sky or something like that.

    If its any help Im not even doing the old trick these days :)

    Yeah, after rebooting last night I didn't bother doing the trick to see if it was affecting it.

    Anyway, all seems to be back to normal now :confused:

    Spoke too soon, EPG time is off again and channels are no longer pauseable.

    My SKY HD box started exhibiting same symptoms yesterday. Channels not pausable, planner inaccessible and system error HP-52J displayed. Spent ages on the phone to tech support last night, firmware download, full system reset etc. but to no avail. They want to charge €100 for engineer visit. Told them no way - waiting for retention/cancellation team to offer me a deal. It's the original Thompson HD box (May 2006). I think the hard disk is fecked.

    Howdy fat-tony, those Thomson's were known to have failing caps in the power supplies, repaired more than one because of it!

    Either way you should get a free one out of them!

    Ha - I replaced the PSU on it several years ago! It knew it was the PSU, because of the burning smell and the fact it was red hot :eek: Came back from the Christmas break at the time and was lucky the place didn't go on fire.
    Buggers wouldn't fix it for free at the time and wanted €100. I spent €20-ish with Martin Pickering's shop in the UK and got an exchange board.
    I'm pretty sure it's the disk as it's now 8 years old. Still haven't had a call back from SKY, so I'm going to call to cancel this afternoon and see what transpires (if anything).

    Did you sort out your own issues?

    edit - just off the phone to SKY. Free tech call out and box replacement(if required). Downside is huge delays in tech visits due to dish issues after the storms - could be early March!
