Good man thanks .i had seen that I'm not too worried about raking out dead grass just levelling divets and poached ground I'm thinking a chain harrow a bit light for the job and I'm not investing big in a framed one

My neighbour bought a new beaconsfield 10ft chain harrow in a frame for 3 pt linkage for repairing poached ground,he and another neighbour who borrowed it say its does a great job, the say it opens up the ground and loosens the soil so much you would really need some grass spread after. The fact that ya can lift it is a great job for getting right into corners of paddocks and awkward shaped fields image.jpg

That's exactly it ...the last chain harrow I bought was borrowed did half the parish and came back meshed together and that was the end of it.....the pin harrow is coming at small money and with a bit of look should withstand some hardship
