I bought this house a few months ago and today the hot water tank started leaking through the wall of the tank . It's a glass lined tank but the sacrificial anode may never have been changed , I don't know. So now I'm looking at options for a replacement . The area I live in has very soft water , so copper is not suitable and my options are glass lined enamel or stainless steel. It will be tied into a solar system and a geothermal heat pump. After a bit of looking I have come up with these 2 options

NIBE VPAS Glass lined Enamel tank

Joule Cyclone Heat Pump Cylinder SAF 2304 grade stainless steel

I'm looking for any advice you may have on which would be the better option.
    Thanks

What size is your heat pump
The size of your heat pump will be relevant to its performance if you go with the joule tank as the coil size in the tank may not be large enough for your heat pump

Not sure . This is the plate on the pump

That joule tank is supposedly specifically for heat pumps ?

17kw, must be a very big house,
Go for the nibe tank, that heat pump won't work on the joule tank,
I know its a heat pump tank but pretty much only for small inverter air to water units

3000 sq ft . thanks for the advice . im just wary of the glass after the last one going . i assume if i keep proper maintenance of the anode it would be ok ?
