If you are travelling on one ticket everything can be done at Dublin.

Don't bother checking in online. Malaysian Airlines don't use the online printouts, they will insist on a traditional boarding pass at Heathrow. You might be able to get one in Dublin but I suspect you will need to go to the transfer desk at Heathrow instead. The transfer desk at T1 will sort you out before you go to T4.

Pretty sure he can't get one in Dublin unless it's changed very recently so the transfer desk will be the way to go.

I flew with Malaysian in Dec from Dub to Oz. they will check you in Dub for all your flights, but you may need to go to the transfer desk at the next airport to get your onward boarding passes.

For whatever reason MH don't have DUB on their actual website, which means you can only book through 3rd party websites and hence can't check in online, choose seats etc :(
