illness benefit query

So basically, my mum has been signed off work on 'the sick' by our GP. She also recieves a deserted wives payment. Will this payment be affected as a result of this??

Your mam if she's getting the full rate of Deserted Wives Allowance can't get Illness Benefit.

Then whatever it is called, it was done by a GP and certs are to be handed into SW each week

There's no Incapacity Benefit here.
I'm afraid your mam is already getting g a payment, Deserted Wives, from the DSP, so she can't get another aswell
How much per week Deserted Wives is she getting?

It says incapacity on the form from GP and has DSP logo.

That form from the GP is for Illness/Injury Benefit.
Your mam can't get that because she already has Deserted Wives payment, unless she only has a very small amount of Deserted Wives. Then that will make her deserted wives payment
up to €188.
But she ccan't get the deserted wives and the illness benefit.
That's why I asked you how much deserted wives she's getting.
