Need a solid boilerplate / web template

    Hi guys,

Used to do a good bit of web design in the previous company I used to work for, but havent done much in a few years.. Now I have to design one for a company that I am subcontracting for...

I have no intention of learning all the latest idiosyncrasies of getting the page to look the same in all browsers. So I'm going to use a boilerplate or template html page and a menu from cssmenumaker.com

Does anybody have any suggestions as to a boilerplate that would fit the job.. ?

    thank you in advance..

I would say Foundation from Zurb:

Less bloaty than Bootstrap, although the purists will tell you to roll your own!

I downloaded and installed Bootstap... Jaysus it's fairly complicated for something that is meant to make your life easier.. I still pretty much remember a lot of the code and even still I find it hard enough to follow...

I found an online debate about Bootstrap vs Skeleton, where they suggest Skeleton is better for small projects that are not likely to evolve and Boostrap is better for large projects. So I'm gonna download that and try it. I'm pretty good at photoshop, so I'm just gonna add a menu from CSSmenumaker, with a big pic (with a view to moving to a slider at some stage) and work it from there..

Found this on a few googles about boilerplates as well.. I'll download it while I'm waiting on a few Skeleton tutorial videos to come down..

Skeleton hasn't been updated in a couple of years though. And both Bootstrap and Foundation use a "mobile-first" approach.

    Another comparison here:

I think Foundation still wins by virtue of features like Interchange:

I take the grid, core functions & media queries out of Foundation & roll my own (somewhat). No point repeating great work, and I get no bloat.
